Just Kidding! says Uganda’s General Muhoozi following backlash from Kenyans

Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF), Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has said that he had no plans to attack Kenya after his father advised him against making such an offensive step.

Muhoozi, the Museveni’s son veiled a threat on Monday, September, 3 indicating a potential incursion into Kenyan territory.

However, he seemed to have calmed down on Tuesday, pleading with the numerous Kenyans who had criticized him on Twitter to let it go.

“I would never beat up the Kenyan army because my father told me never to attempt it! So our people in Kenya should relax,” Muhoozi tweeted.

He stated that he has no ill will against Kenyans who had stormed his Twitter page on Monday to criticize him for his delicate remarks.

“KOT, I forgive you all for the insults you have hurled against me. Please let’s work together to make East Africa great.”

His first tweet raised mixed reactions to the Kenyans on Twitter after stating that it wouldn’t take the Ugandan army two weeks to capture Nairobi.

Further, Muhoozi said that former President Uhuru Kenyatta would have won the election perhaps he wished to vie for the third time.

He said that President William Ruto’s predecessor had all techniques to get into power for his third term but spoiled the opportunity.

“My only problem with my beloved big brother is that he didn’t stand for a third term. We would have won easily!” he said.

He however cracked a joke after notably realizing that his statement raised an alarm to Kenyans who seek detailed elaboration on the controversial statement he made.

“I’m happy that members of our district in Kenya, have responded enthusiastically to my tweet. It’s still 2 weeks to Nairobi! After our army captures Nairobi, where should I live? Westlands? Riverside?”

“Haha! I love my Kenyan relatives. Constitution? Rule of law? You must be joking! For us, there is only the Revolution and you will soon learn about it!” he said.

Muhoozi went ahead to thank his East African supporters for helping him attract 600k followers on Twitter.

“Thank you, my followers. Let’s make it to 1 million soon. I appreciate the love. Let me see how many East Africans still love me. Retweet and like for our project!”

In 2017 Muhoozi, the son of President Yoweri Museveni was appointed Presidential Adviser, fueling speculations he is being prepared for the presidency.

He was reappointed as the Commander of the elite Special Forces Command (SFC) in December 2020.

Lt. Gen. Muhoozi served in the same position from 2008 to 2017.

On 30 November 2021, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo launched a joint military offensive in Eastern Congo dubbed ‘Operation Shujaa’, led by Muhoozi.
