Actress Jackie Matubia appears to have undergone minimally invasive surgery to manage her weight based on her Instagram stories from October 4, 2022.
Matubia began a series of posts by informing her followers that from a starting weight of 105.5 kilos to 99.3 kilograms, she had reduced six kilograms in one week.
Matubia made it known that she had visited the clinic for a gastric balloon by identifying the facility where she had the procedure done.
Before being connected to fluids, she was seen on camera taking what appeared to be a medication, along with some water.
“And just like that, it was done. However, after this, you have three days of feeling nauseated and a little bit of vomiting but most importantly hydrate! Hydrate! Through IV,” she posted.
A saline-filled balloon is inserted into your stomach during an intragastric balloon implantation surgery, as described by the Mayo Clinic, to help you lose weight.
This aids in weight loss by restricting how much one eats and causing one to feel full more quickly.
According to the Mayo Clinic, the treatment entails the doctor inserting a small tube into your stomach through your mouth that is equipped with an intragastric balloon. The endoscope allows the doctor to observe the balloon as it is being filled with saline.
According to estimates, the treatment takes around 30 minutes, and two hours later, the patient can leave.
