GOVT Spokesperson Cyrus Oguna has been appointed as the Chief of Staff by Governor James Orengo to signal an exit from the national government.
Oguna has been serving as the National Government Spokesperson since 2019 under former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.
Retired Colonel Cyrus Oguna worked as the head of the KDF Intelligence Training School. He is well known for his position as the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Public Affairs Officer and Spokesman.

Cyrus Oguna graduated from the National Defense College, where he was awarded several medals, some of which include Moran of the order of the Burning Spear.
In a list unveiled on Wednesday, Orengo also appointed lawyer Velma Maumo as legal advisor, journalist Benjamin Agina as the Director of Governor’s press, Fred Ojode will serve as Orengo’s Personal Assistant, George Oloo Okanda as a political advisor, Grace Ongile will be the Economic Advisor.
Others are George Nyin’giro (Roads, Public Works, Energy, and Transport), Sylvester K’okoth (Agriculture, Irrigation, Food, Livestock, and Fisheries), Edgar Otumba (Education, Youth Affairs, Gender, and Social Services) Grace Agola (Trade, Enterprise and Industrial Development) and Maurice Mcorege (Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development).
Governor James Orengo is known for his skills in arguing matters about constitutional law.
He won the General elections that happened in August and was declared the 2nd governor of Siaya county.
