Chebukati’s wife, Mary Wanyonyi among shortlisted Principal Secretaries

The wife of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman, Wafula Chebukati is among the 477 shortlisted candidates for the position of Principal Secretaries (PSs).

Mary Chebukati Wanyonyi from Bungoma County was listed as candidate 296 on the Public Service Commission applicant list dated Thursday, September 6.

Mary Wanyonyi Chebukati is the Senior Deputy Accountant General and Head of the Accounting Unit since January 2019.

She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce with a bias in Accounting.

Among other listed candidates were, former Lang’ata MP, Nixon Korir, Isaac Mwaura, and former Housing, Agriculture, and ICT PSs, Charles Hinga, Francis Owino, and Jerome Ochieng respectively.

Others were former Broadcasting and Telecommunications Principal Secretary, Esther Koimett, Peter Kaberia (Industrialisation), Julius Jwan (Education), Saitoti Torome (Planning), and Nelson Marwa (Social Protection).

Belio Kipsang (Regional and Northern Corridor Development), Margaret Mwakimu (TVET), and Fred Sigor (Wildlife) were also shortlisted.

Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangangi and Director General for Health Dr Patrick Amoth also made it to the list.

Former Kiminini MP was also among the listed candidate who will be interviewed by PSC as of October 12. Names of successful applicants with them be submitted to Ruto for nomination.
