Caren Kibet wins Best TV Personality of the Year at the Zikomo Awards

Caren Kibet managed to bag the Best TV personality of the year award and took to social media to post her excitement and gratefulness not only to her fans but also to her mother and boss.

Caren, a sports journalist working at Kenya Broadcasting Cooperation (KBC), was nominated for two awards; the Best Journalist of the year award and the best TV personality of the year award.

She thanked her mother saying that her hard work paid off and she would be nowhere without her love and support. She also thanked her boss and promised to take the standards of sports journalism higher. Caren also showed her gratitude to fans and supporters for letting her read the sports news and keep them updated.

“I salute you. To the ever-patient, probing, and loving viewers in Kenya and beyond, who have welcomed me to their living rooms and social spaces invited, I can’t thank you enough. God bless you. I promise to scale up the sterling standards of sports journalism.”

Before working at KBC, she worked at K24 as a sports journalist before she was laid off due to a redundancy notice that was issued by the management. Apart from Caren, Lulu Hassan was also recognized and won best film producer, she was congratulated by fellow co-host and husband Abdalla Rashid on winning the award.
