Singer Ben Pol has spoken on his ongoing divorce with Keroche heiress Anerlisa Muigai.
Ben Pol feels his ex-wife hasn’t moved on after their divorce was finalized in March 2021 in a conversation with a local publication, despite the fact that he claims he hasn’t received any news from the court where he filed the divorce case in April last year.
A few weeks ago, Anerlisa couldn’t contain her happiness as she expressed gratitude to her legal team and celebrated the ‘formal’ split of her marriage to the Moyo Mashine hitmaker.
To her 10 million Instagram followers, Anerlisa said on her stories that she had received a statement from her attorneys stating that the divorce had been granted and that she was now a “free lady.”
However, in a swift retort, Be Pol rejected the development, stating that the divorce’s initiator was still waiting to hear from the court and that nothing had changed.
Speaking recently from Bukoba, Tanzania, the 32-year-old said Muigai’s actions convey a picture of someone who is still hurting while still discussing the situation.
“Honestly, I don’t know why people think divorce is fun unless you are extremely broken or haven’t really moved on,” Ben Pol said.
He went on, “That’s when you will see divorce as something to celebrate about. I have never seen something like that. I mean, your own divorce, how can it be fun? Someone clearly isn’t okay.”
After meeting at a press conference in Nairobi in 2018, Anerlisa and Ben Pol started dating. Before making their relationship public, they dated in private.
Just 11 months after the couple wed, the singer petitioned for divorce at a Dar es Salaam court in April 2021.
2020 saw the two exchange vows in Tanzania in front of a small gathering of their loved ones.
Anerlisa abandoning Ben Pol’s last name was the first sign of their marriage’s fissures, though neither would say anything about what was happening.
