Tanzanian singer Zuchu said on Instagram that she would be suing an influencer for body shaming her.
In an Instagram post, Zuchu stated that she was seeking advice from different women’s representatives on how to handle Ostaz Juma, aka OJ Facts.
OJ Facts claimed that while Zuchu was gifted with a singing voice, her physical appearance wasn’t ideal.
OJ claimed that Zuchu had inherited her mother’s superb singing voice but not her figure and that she was not endowed with a good backside that he thought flat and a ‘humble’ chest.
He also hoped that Zuchu would inherit her mother’s DNA for a beautiful chest rather than being as plus-sized as her iconic singer mother Khadija Kopa currently is.
He urged Diamond Platnumz to respect her as she is and refrain from destroying her life and career.
Zuchu responded by criticizing OJ for leveraging her name to try to get notoriety, claiming that doing so without genuine talent is not necessarily a good thing.
“I have never looked for respect from human beings. I don’t waste my time and it’s not my effort. But I think there is a time when you have to teach people how to respect you.
I am a daughter with brothers, friends and family that surround me but maybe I am a mirror to some people.”
She continued, “He has never ridiculed anyone, he is not controversial and I know clearly to my knowledge that I don’t know this man at all. I think the time has come for us to be careful of the words we utter.”
Zuchu stated, “I am in talks with institutions that are concerned with women’s rights. I am still looking for the right guidance. If you are there, I request your cooperation.
