Sandra Mbuvi, the lastborn daughter of former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko, posted a video on Tiktok to show off some of the ostentatious amenities found inside their expansive Mua Hills house in Machakos County.
In the video, Sandra starts the filming while standing in a well-kept garden outside the mansion before proceeding to the actual place.
“Everybody has that one thing in their house that everybody thinks is so cool. It could be a hidden cabinet, a little movie room, a gadget but ours is this…” said a background voice in Sandra’s video.
She then enters the outside washroom, which has a gold toilet and tiles with gold plating all over the walls.
When Sandra made her disclosure, some of her fans were taken aback, wondering what they could possibly expect from a makeup room if a toilet had such elegance.
Mike Sonko has a passion for gold that is unsurpassed. Sonko would undoubtedly have it, whether it is original or gold-plated.
These include gold-plated furniture such as chairs, tables, beds, clocks, jewellery, and even a car at one point.
Sonko had gold-plated toilets installed at many sites, including his new VIP nightclub. He constructed gold-plated lion sculptures and multiple toilets of the same colour in his club.
Mike Sonko spent KSh 4.3 million on a Versace pendant and chain that he bought in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates in 2019. He was so expensive throughout his time as governor and still is.
Netizens have always debated the subject of his love of gold and diamonds and offered a variety of viewpoints.
