As a result of testing positive for Covid-19, Tanzanian bongo artist Alikiba has canceled his upcoming US concert tour.
The singer who announced his Instagram stories said,
“To all my dear fans who have been impatiently waiting for the commencement of My Only One King US Tour, 2022 which was to commence on 2nd September, I’m truly saddened and devastated to say that I have tested positive for Covid-19.”
Alikiba born Ali Saleh Kiba extended his apology for the inconvenience;
“We are forced to postpone and reschedule to the soonest day possible.
Nothing is more important to me than the health of my band, crew and you, my fans.”
The Mwana hitmaker was scheduled to perform across several states during a tour that would run from September 2, 2022, through October 1, 2022.
Washington, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Des Moines, Atlanta, Lexington, Manchester, Chicago, Dallas, and Houston were among the states mentioned.
In 2021, the artiste published his third album, the Only One King, on which he collaborated with musicians such Patoranking, Sauti Sol, and Khaligraph Jones.
After a ten-year hiatus from music projects, Alikiba released his album “Only One King” with 16 tracks.
Alikiba noted in a statement following its release,
“I am so excited about this project and I am thankful to my fans for being patient. 10 years are quite a lot since I released my last album and this album is dedicated to my day 1 fans.”
The tracks are doing well on several music platforms and have received a lot of response and engagement from Alikiba’s fans as well as those of his collaborators.
