Linet Chepkorir aka Toto, has won the Bomet Woman Representative seat with a difference of 26,000 votes between her and her immediate opponent Eunice Benson.
Linet Chepkorir is the youngest woman representative to hold office in that post, she vied on a UDA ticket in the Bomet woman representative seat and emerged victorious.
Chepkorir went against all odds to put up a spirited fight throughout her campaigns for the UDA ticket, which attracted 10 other aspirants.
She emerged victorious after gaining 53,934 votes, followed by Eunice Benson at 27,711, Stacey Chepkemoi at 26,808, Beatrice Tonui at 20,495, Cecilia Mutai at 16,644, Susan Koech at 12,410, and Brenda Chepngetich 11,901.
The other contenders included Joan Towett and Faith Chepkirui.
‘Toto’ as she is referred to, rose to fame during an aspirants’ meeting at Deputy President William Ruto’s Karen residence in early 2021.
She was in a yellow pullover and a cap and her photo went viral on social media.
Later on, in Ruto’s rally, her fame advanced at Bomet Green stadium when she was recognized and allowed to address the crowd.
Chepkorir kept enjoying the overwhelming support from across the county and mainly from the youth.
The 24-year-old Chuka University graduate has had to put through financial challenges to support her political ambitions.
Toto graduated with a bachelor’s degree in procurement last year.
During a past interview with the media, Chepkorir, who is the third child in a family of seven, declared she had possessed leadership skills since a tender age, having served in various positions.
“I decided to join politics and run for this seat because it has always been my dream to serve people,” she said.
She said her main agenda once elected is to pursue the youth and women.

“As a lady and having stayed with my mother at home for long, I know the challenges that women go through and my focus will be to support them with available resources allocated to the office,” she said.
