Deputy President, William Ruto, has won more votes than his opponent Azimio flagbearer Raila Odinga in Mugumo Primary school, Gichugu Constituency, which happens to be Martha Karua’s backyard
Ruto caused an upset in Azimio la Umoja’s running mate’s polling station at Mugumo Primary School by pulling through a clear win, with Karua’s party managing almost a third of the votes.
Results from form 34A posted by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) show that DP Ruto garnered 911 votes while Raila managed 311 votes.
The Azimio presidential candidate also lost to Ruto in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s polling station.
Uhuru cast his vote at Mutomo Primary School polling station in Ichaweri, Gatundu South Constituency.
The IEBC voter results from Mutomo Primary school polling station indicate that Deputy President William Ruto leads with 983 votes against Raila’s 464 votes.
According to the Form 34As uploaded on the IEBC portal, all the results from the four streams within the school had been uploaded.
The voter turnout at Mutomo polling station in Gatundu South was low unlike expected.
Azimio presidential running mate Martha Karua on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, cast her vote at Mugumo Primary School in Kirinyaga County.
Karua was at the polling station early in the morning and was the first person to vote.
According to Form 34As uploaded on the IEBC portal, Ruto leads in the Mugumo polling station in Kirinyaga County.

The results show that the UDA presidential candidates garnered 911 votes at the Mugumo polling station against Raila’s 311 votes.
