Mount Kenya candidates shouldn’t have rushed to concede: Kalonzo tells Kenyans

Kalonzo

Kalonzo Musyoka -Wiper party leader has hinted that candidates who conceded defeat in the Mount Kenya region should not have rushed to concede before the final announcement from the IEBC.He said that it’s only IEBC who have the true numbers.

Speaking last Friday at Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition meeting, he projected confidence that their camp has more winners from the region than their rival Kenya Kwanza, and that the truth will be known once IEBC announces its final results.

” I was a bit distressed when I saw people conceding. Nobody should have conceded in Central Kenya because you will be shocked when the truth is known. We as Azimio have the majority members of parliament and governors. We had to debunk this thing which is circulating on social media to the contrary.” said Kalonzo at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre on Friday.

He went on to congratulate leaders who have already been announced as winners in their respective regions, adding that he is sure of a Raila Odinga victory.

“I would like to express a hearty congratulation to all of you who have done so well and done our coalition so proud. You have stood so firm for our leader Baba the Fifth. We are confident of a win, we cannot announce we will wait for Chebukati to do that,” he said.

The Wiper Party leader also urged the IEBC to be transparent through the vote verification process, urging the nation to remain calm even after the final results will be announced.

“We urge IEBC to do the country the next legitimate thing and announce the winner. I know that the country is going to remain peaceful after this announcement. “And I congratulate our fellow citizens for remaining solid, patient,” he further stated.
