On Wednesday morning, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declared that as of 6:47am, they had received 92.97% of form 34As.
As of Wednesday morning, 42,980 out of 46,229 voting places had turned in the paperwork.
However, the IEBC made it clear during the Tuesday morning opening of the national tallying center that the forms are just for the presidential counts.
The commission further stated that because the submissions were made by county returning officers (CROs), they did not obtain tangible copies of the form 34As.
All polling places’ presiding officers were required to first use the KEIMS kit to snap images of their 34As, which they then transmitted in a three-way transmission:
- Constituency Returning Officer
- County Returning Officer
- The National Portal which is the main, central point for the IEBC tallying process at the Bomas of Kenya.
