“No one should declare themselves winner or release their results, that is the work of the commission and the Returning Officer,” Chebukati said during an update early Friday at the Bomas of Kenya.

The warning comes in after threats issued by some of the party officials who claimed that they will release the results of their tally if the electoral body does not announce the winner.

Several media houses operating their tally are also yet to wrap up the process that started on Tuesday night.

By 1 Friday, 80 Returning Officers had arrived at the Bomas of Kenya with results on Form 34 A for verification.

Chebukati, who had released results from 6 constituencies earlier committed to increasing the verification process by pulling up more verification desks from 5.
