Tecra, who was dating Omar Lali and was residing with him in a private home in Shella on the island of Lamu, met her untimely demise after she fell down a flight of stairs.

“I am single and not searching,” he explained in an online interview, adding that he remains hopeful that God will get him the right partner.

The 50-year-old also discussed why he chose to have unkempt hair and a thick beard.

“People have called me a witch doctor because of how I look. This is my nature as I look like this by choice. It’s not that I don’t know how to trim or shave. This is my symbol, they define me. I have had them for six years now without trimming,” he added.

Omar is said to have dated Tecra for over two years until the time of her demise at his home in Lamu county.

Lali, a boat operator located in Lamu, also discussed how Muigai’s death forced him into the spotlight, which did him more harm than good.

“I hate being famous. The incident was hurting but also took away my freedom. Fame took away my freedom and that sucks, which is why I don’t like to travel anymore. I used to love travelling so much before fame.”

The father of three typically serves as a tourist escort at the Coast.

Police held Lali in custody to help with their investigation into Teccra’s death, as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations detectives visited the Lamu residence to get more information.

In 2020, the Lamu boat operator lost his girlfriend in a contentious situation.

He was taken into custody in relation to the death, which he claims was an “accident,” and later freed after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) decided not to press charges. Since then, the DPP has launched an investigation to discover the truth.
