File[Courtesy]Jonathan Bii said his opponents would jeer at him for having one jacket while campaigning, unlike his opponents who splashed money and rode on choppers to various rallies. He said the plan by his rivals to canvass his political ambition bore no fruits as it emerged as a threat to prove them wrong. He further noted that the Bottom-up hustler narrative resonated with his life status and that he decided to pitch his politics through the UDA party.“We have accepted it and owned the name and we are happy it is resonating well with the ordinary people who identify themselves with our ideals,” as quoted by People Daily. The synonymous Koti Moja name has since taken a life of its own as Uasin Gishu residents usually carry worn-out jackets as a way of identity and support for Bii’s aspirations. During the gubernatorial debate held yesterday by the Citizen Tv journalists Waihiga Mwaura and Mashirima Kampombe, Bii noted that he would create an enabling environment for investors and transform the county into an ideal industrial hub. He further pledged credits to farmers in order to increase value addition to their agricultural sector.“I will ensure enough money is injected into the cooperatives, and staff is well trained, for them to run efficiently,” he stated.
