Beware! CS Kagwe Warns Following 67 New Covid Cases

According to a statement by the Health Cabinet Secretary, Mutahi Kagwe, Kenya has recorded 67 new Covid cases as of Wednesday, July 27.

55 Kenyans and 12 foreigners tested positive from a sample size of 1,924 tested within 24 hours.

“Nairobi accounted for 34 cases, Uasin Gishu 12, Kilifi five, Meru four, Isiolo two, Kiambu two, Kisumu two, Kericho and Kwale each one case. Among them, 36 are males while 32 are females with the youngest a one-year-old and the oldest at 98 yrs,” Kagwe said.

The total confirmed cases are said to be 337, 456 while cumulative tests so far conducted are at 3.8 million.  

“There are 53 patients currently admitted in our health facilities while 661 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program. One patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is on ventilatory support. Another five are in the General Wards and are all on supplemental oxygen. No patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU),” CS Kagwe added.

The government is targeting more vaccination of the masses in response to the rise in the number of new infections.

As it stands, a total of 19.8 million vaccines have been administered across the country.
