England National Football Team Manager, Gareth Southgate, will be a worried man following his nation’s humiliating 0-4 defeat to Hungary, at the UEFA Nations League A match, played on Tuesday, June 14.
It has been 94 years since England’s last home defeat by 4 or more goals, that’s 875 international matches since their last home defeat of this nature.
And with that, English fans have taken to social media to call for Southgate’s removal and Brighton’s Graham Potter’s hiring, in a bid to restore England to winning ways, ahead of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
The Hungarians steamrolled England, dominating play when it counted and holding their own defensively with Southgate’s side registering more attempts on target but no goal in return, despite fielding a star-studded squad.
If England’s damning numbers are anything to go by, the manner in which the goals were scored made it even worse for English loyalists, as the Hungarians delivered crisp finishes to top it off.
England 0-4 Hungary.

Graham Potter has England Manager written all over him.
Plays attacking football, and develops young players.. we’re winning absolutely nothing with Southgate.

I think the majority of us England fans have had enough.
We have great players and yet such a boring, drab team thats going backwards.
Get Southgate out, and Graham Potter in.#ENGHUN #SouthgateOut pic.twitter.com/KqZjQIWn2F

Honestly speaking 🔊, as long as Gareth Southgate is still the manager of England they’ll never win anything. This guy is a real plumber, England has the material of competing against the best teams. Graham Potter is so clear, I believe Potter can do better than this clown! pic.twitter.com/HEoPjQ9dVY

Roland Sallai’s brace was something to be envied as he stormed goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, dancing and prancing all over a very sheepish English defense.
The Bundesliga SC Freiburg winger managed one unstoppable volley and a second strike from a well-placed assist from substitute Martin Adam.
Zlost Nagy fired a screamer from afar before John Stones saw red and received his marching orders, bringing England down to ten men.
Southgate played safe replacing attacker Bukayo Saka with Man United defender Harry Maguire.
It took five minutes after Maguire came in, for Hungary to hammer the final nail in England’s coffin, thanks to a cheeky lob from Daniel Gazdag, that saw Kyle Walker helplessly chase after the ball that was already bound for the back of the net.
