Ndirangu Wahome has been the headline to the people of
Nyandarua County after being arrested by police following the allegations of
selling samosa to Wanjohi and Kipipiri residents that are baked from dog meat.

Wahome’s arrest astonished his fellow vendors who had no
clue that the snacks were made from dogs.

He was arrested after police found the remains of dogs
slaughtered in his house.

The consumers said the snacks designed in attractive
colours that nobody would imagine are made from dog meat.

“The samosa had a unique alluring taste with equally
enticing colors, we never suspected it was dog meat. He was also selling fried,
boiled, and roasted pieces of meat. I felt like vomiting on learning what I
have been consuming,” said vendor Jack Karanja.

However, the Kipipri Sub-County Police Commander Rashid
Juma said an investigation is underway to figure out how Wahome acquired dogs
for such a counterfeit business. Juma however said they found utensils, dog
heads and stained machetes in Wahome’s house.

“We have arrested the man but I suspect he is not normal;
a normal man cannot engage in such a business. We want to understand for how
long he has been in the business, where he gets the dogs in running such a
contraband business,” said Juma.
