The puzzle is based on who has the potential
to win between Johnson Sakaja and Polycarp Igathe considering both have
political bargaining power over Nairobi County.
Yesterday’s ruling made by the IEBC’s Dispute
Resolution Committee affirmed that Sakaja’s degree lacks jurisdiction to
determine its authenticity and that the petition challenged him to be withdrawn
with no further discourse.
“We are in it to win so that we can
transform this great city of ours,” he added soon after the verdict was
delivered.
“So, we shall continue with our campaigns
in earnest, we shall continue talking to the people of Nairobi,” Sakaja
said, adding that he will launch his manifesto soon.
Sakaja’s political pendulum was earlier
encountered provocations regarding the petition filed by Dennis Wahome
questioning Sakaja’s degree.
The petitioner told the Dispute Committee in
an affidavit that Sakaja’s degree in science in management from the Teams
University of Uganda was acquired in forgeries.
Dennis wanted the Nairobi senator’s clearance
certificate issued by the IEBC on June 7 to be revoked on grounds that he did
not remit the requirements for one to be a governor.
However, the political temperature in Nairobi
County skyrockets in the middle of 49 days to the general election.
Kenya Kwanza brigade is armed to the teeth
betting to procure the Nairobi County government as Azimio troll hard
campaigning for their candidate Polycarp Igathe.
