 By Mujidu Victor

The UDA party encouraged all media houses to send
their female journalists for the Nyayo Stadium event coverage.

The UDA party’s unusual statement raises mixed
reactions from different media houses, stating it as unbiasedness form in the

 According
to the Kenya Kwanza coalition, the decision to have female journalists covering
the event is part of commemorating the role women play in numerous areas.

 “We
encourage your Media House/Online News Blog to deploy a Women Crew as we seek
to celebrate and highlight the important role played by women in all sectors,”
UDA Communications Director Wanjohi Githae said in a media invite.

 The
signing of the Kenya Kwanza Women Charter is set to take place at the event to
be attended by the coalition’s presidential flag bearer William Ruto.

 This
comes days after the launch of the UDA Women’s League at a Nairobi hotel on
Sunday.

 During
the launch of the UDA Women’s League, Ruto said his party is banking on the
support of women to win the August 9 polls.

 “UDA
is a women’s party. It has the largest representation of women across the
board. All opinion polls indicate UDA is the most popular party in Kenya and
has a record majority of women,”
said Ruto
.
