I bring value – Akothee on why she charges KSh 2m per show

Award-winning Kenyan songstress Esther Akoth, well known by her stage name Akothee, made her rate card available to the public, showing that she costs KSh 2.3 million for each performance.

The Abebo hitmaker claimed In an interview with presenter Ali, that she always adds value to each event or performance for which she is hired, which is why her rate card is for Sh2.3 million.

“Right now my rate-card is $20,000 (KSh 2, 352, 000). Its value for money, I bring value. I think I’m the number one earning artiste in Kenya right now,” Akothee said.

Akothee has been the only musician from Kenya for the previous few years to be invited to perform at One Music Africa Festival, one of the biggest events in the world.

Additionally, the singer affirmed that she is no longer dating Nelly Oaks. The singer said that out of respect for Nelly, she won’t go into specifics about what happened before the relationship ended. She also added that she walked out of the relationship in December.

“I will never announce a breakup if I have not walked through it. In a breakup everybody is hurt and a lot of people are struggling in relationships even the biggest of the biggest celebrities,

“Relationships are not something you can ignore because its matter of the heart…according to me I had walked out of the relationship in December. So right now I’m single,” Akothee said.

The self-declared head of single mothers attempted to make it clear on June 8, 2022, that she is now focused on marketing her just-released book and music and is not in need of any relationship obligations.

She continued by saying that she had ended previous relationships, so her fans and followers shouldn’t be surprised by the current split.

“I have walked out of other relationships with different ups and downs, so this last one shouldn’t be a shock or a surprise.

“It’s just a personal decision, I need time to concentrate on my new Found happiness with less destruction, I need to work on myself and my career, I am not ready for any commitment,” Akothee  stated.
