We gained our independence so that
we could speak the truth and we must speak it now without fear. We must not
fear.
The
fourth estate members are urged to be objective in highlighting these issues
seeking comprehension of whether they are intimidated, oppressed, or
blackmailed to an extent they fear speaking the truth.

A toss and twist for the run to August
polls have the political drums that seem to be stirring waves in nationwide
politics.
A question that lingers in the minds of
the citizens is who is focused on offering a chance for change for the citizens
as it seems allegations against rivals are the main topic of the campaigns.
The campaign trails officially on, and the
nation is engulfed in both truths and lies spreading across from the political
aspirants drumming out agendas and manifestos for the people.
During an address by Governor Zachary
Okoth Obado of Migori, he speaks on solemn matters when it comes to the
campaign speeches and rallying of the individuals into perceptions that are
allegations.
Obado was considered a rebel in the Nyanza
region for his status quo of following his intentions to serve the people.
Running and achieving a win in the 2017
elections on an independent candidature, the Governor is currently under the
United Democratic Alliance party (UDA) a situation that challenges the norm of
the Nyanza region.
Speaking in Migori, he criticized,”
the rival team Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition keeps hurling accusations of
corruption while they are the hypocrites who preach water while they are
drinking wine urging his fellow politicians to be realistic.”
Instead of accusing others of theft and
corruption while campaigning at rallies, they should focus on what changes they
will deliver to the people.
Addressing the notion spread by the rivals
of corruption being one-sided while the same team is filled with leaders who if
investigated will be deemed guilty of corruption and graft cases.
Allegedly pointing at the Azimio brigade
for being good at sanitizing each other in that once you are one of them and a
supporter then you are considered an angel and white as cotton whereas on
having independent thoughts one becomes as black as coal.
Governor Obado called on the Media to
delve into this matter of corruption deeply, and address exposing it without
fear as he questions whether the fourth estate could be afraid of the team or
whether they are infringed.
He urges the fourth estate members to be
objective in highlighting these issues seeking comprehension of whether they
are intimidated, oppressed, or blackmailed to an extent they fear speaking the
truth.
Stating that the media plays a critical
role in perception influence within the citizens for delivering information.
Emphasizing the role of Independence
attained by Kenya decades ago that is to speak the truth without fear, “we
gained our independence so that we could speak the truth and we must speak it
now without fear. We must not fear,” he said.
