The 2026 World Cup will be the first to be co-hosted by three countries, as well as the first to feature 48 countries.
FIFA revealed the cities in the United States, Mexico, and Canada that will host the 2026 World Cup.
The United States has eleven authorized cities, which will hold 60 games, while Canada has two and Mexico has three. The latter two nations will each host ten games.

For the first time in history, the World Cup would feature 48 nations. In addition, the 2026 World Cup will be the first to be co-hosted by three countries.
In 2002, the Republic of Korea and Japan became the first countries to co-host a FIFA World Cup.
Mexico will become the first country to host or co-host the men’s World Cup three times, after hosting the championships in 1970 and 1986.
After hosting the 1994 men’s World Cup and the 1999 and 2003 women’s World Cups, the United States becomes the first country to hold both men’s and women’s World Cups twice.
While Canada becomes the fifth country to host both the men’s and women’s World Cups after hosting the 2015 Women’s World Cup. Canada will host the men’s World Cup for the first time in 2026.
