Comedian Akuku Danger detained in hospital over KSh 823k unpaid bill

Comedian and actor Akuku Danger, has been discharged from Nairobi West Hospital but is still being held due to an outstanding bill of KSh 823, 000.

According to his partner Sandra Dacha, the hospital has detained the comedian and has refused to accept collateral in order to release the comedian.

“After deductions from his insurance and cash payments, Akuku Danger the Comedian has been confined at Nairobi West Hospital for the past two weeks and has racked up a debt of KSh 823, 000.”

“He was discharged the day before yesterday, but the hospital is holding him until he pays the amount. Despite having collateral from the January bill, which is worth more than the whole payment, the hospital has refused to take collateral so that he may handle his finances from the outside,” Sandra Dacha wrote.

The actress is urging well-wishers to lend a hand and assist the comedian get out of the hospital.

Akuku Danger has been in and out of hospital this year and almost lost his life to lung failure and kidney infection, after spending weeks in ICU and high dependency.

Mwalimu Churchill revealed on December 31, 2021 that Akuku was born with Sickle Cell Anemia, a chronic illness that lasts a lifetime.

“Akuku Danger was born with Sickle Cell Anemia, which flares up and disappears. He has blood cancer and is constantly in and out of the hospital. What has kept him going is being able to come here and entertain you. Imagine receiving the news that you only have a year to live,

“Do you have any idea how depressing it is?” But he keeps going. The problem with the condition is that it hits you hard when it does,” Churchill said during his New Year’s eve show at Garden City Mall.

Akuku has been admitted to the hospital twice this year with Dacha playing an essential role in his recovery in both instances.

She mobilized well wishers and kept followers updated on his hospitalisation and even held a fundraiser to assist the comic pay off his medical fees.
