A ram has been sentenced to three years in military camp by South Sudanese police after murdering a woman.
The ram lost control and assaulted Adhieu Chaping, a 45-year-old woman, inflicting rib injury that resulted in her death.

According to Sudan’s Eye Radio’s interview with Police Chief Major Elijah Mabor the woman died on the spot following the grizzly encounter with the domestic animal.
“The ram struck her in the ribs, and the old woman died instantly,” the Police Chief said.
The sheep was seized and sent to the police station right away before it could harm anyone else.
“As cops, our job is to keep people safe and separate fights arrested and so the goat is currently being held in a police station,”Mabor confirmed.
The event takes a peculiar turn when authorities subject the animal to human law, accusing it of murder and sending it to a three-year military camp.
They arrested the sheep, not the owner, Duony Manyang Dhal, because the owner couldn’t have had anything to do with the vicious animal, according to Mabor.
“Because the owner is innocent and the ram is the one who committed the offense, it deserves to be arrested,” the officer stated. “The matter will then be submitted to customary court, where the case can be resolved amicably.”
South Sudanese local media reported that the ram will be spending the next three years in a military camp in Aduel County headquarters in Sudan’s Lakes State. The local court has ruled that the owner of the ram, Duony Manyang Dhal, will also have to hand over five cows to the victim’s family.
Dhal will also most likely lose the ram at the end of his sentence as customary laws in the region state that any domestic animal that kills a person is then given as compensation to the victim’s family.
