The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has secured a resounding victory in four by-elections across the country, strengthening the party’s grassroots dominance and consolidating its political footprint in key counties.
The wins saw Mohamed Tubi clinch the Isiolo South parliamentary seat, while three other UDA candidates captured Member of County Assembly (MCA) positions in Embu and Kakamega counties.
Mohamed Tubi Wins Isiolo South Parliamentary Seat
In the tightly contested Isiolo South race, Mohamed Tubi emerged victorious with 7,352 votes, earning him the mandate to represent Isiolo South Constituency in the National Assembly.
Tubi’s win marks a significant gain for UDA in Isiolo South, reinforcing the party’s growing influence in Isiolo County and the wider northern Kenya region.
UDA Secures Three MCA Seats
Beyond the parliamentary win, UDA candidates also triumphed in three ward-level contests.
Duncan Muratia Nyaga won the Evurore Ward MCA seat with 7,853 votes in Embu County while Peterson Njeru Njiru secured the Muminji Ward MCA seat with 3,207 votes in Embu County.
In Kakamega County Elphas Kainanga Shalakha clinched the West Kabras Ward MCA seat with 3,317 votes.
The by-election sweep provides a morale boost for UDA as it continues to position itself as a dominant political force nationally ahead of the 2027 general elections.
With four new leaders elected under its banner, President William Ruto’s UDA now strengthens its representation both in Parliament and within county assemblies, setting the stage for heightened political momentum ahead of the 2027 contests.
