Senegal captain and Bayern Munich forward, Sadio Mane, punched Leroy Sane following their 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday. Mane has now been suspended and fined by Bayern Munich for violent conduct.

A statement by the Bavarian club read: ‘Sadio Mané, 31, will not be included in the FC Bayern squad for this Saturday’s home match against 1899 Hoffenheim. This is due to his misconduct after Bayern’s Champions League match at Manchester City. Mané will also be given a fine.’

Mane punched Leroy Sane in the dressing room after the 3-0 loss against Manchester City. Sane’s lip was bleeding following the confrontation, according to SkyGermany, and the two players needed to be separated in the dressing room by their other teammates.

In a statement after the game, new Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel did not mention the altercation between the duo but instead said,

“Of course, the result is bitter for us. I fell in love with my team a little today, the way they performed. Even if it sounds strange, that was a lot of fun.”
